Welcome to Buffalo Street Lofts. The name arrives from the name of the street
on which the loft sits and the fact that I am mixed blood Native American. I have
been raising English Short Face since 1991 and have both Selfs and Baldheads.
The Selfs are in all colors; Reds, Yellows, Golden Duns, Kites, Red/Yellow Agates,
Deroys, and of course Almonds. I have bought birds from Danny Revolinski, Fred
Hencken, Walter Bronznoff, and Rudy Zitz. With these bloodlines I have created my
own stock. Most of my stock birds will now milk their own young and feed them for
up to two weeks. I am striving towards making the smallest birds possible, as
it states in the standards.
Balds colors are mostly Yellow. I have been working on a family of Bars, Reds,
Yellows and Blues. The Balds still have a ways to go before they are comparable
with the Selfs. I started working in the balds with Bill Mackey. He has had some
health problems and moved to a different part of the country, and since 2002 I
have had all of the birds in my loft. I would not be where I am today with out
the help and support of Fred Hencken and Danny Revolinski. Fred has been very
patient and steadfast in working with me to reach my goals. He is a wealth of
knowledge when it comes to colors. Having lived in the Oregon country, Danny
understands all of the hurdles the must be overcome to sucessfully raise these
terrific little birds.
The English Short Face Tumbler is one of the most difficult breeds of pigeons to
raise and is a challenge to anyone! One of my goals is to share my wealth of
knowledge and experiences to educated others and help them get started breeding.
I welcome any correspondence from those who are interested in ESF, I have learned
many valuable tips and I am eager to share with others. There are birds for sale
from time to time. I rarely charge more than $50, if that. I am more interested in
perpetuating the breed and helping others start off with good stock. Check out
the picture pages as I will now be adding new pictures more frequently.
